About

Three generations...

Trish Castillo and Steve Wilson bought 100 acres of vacant property back in the 80's. Since then they have established a successful commercial flower farm on 10 of the acres.

Tayo and I moved down to Wyndham in March 2020 to try our hand at flower farming to enable his parents to take a step back. Tayo grew up on the farm with his sister Marina, they both moved away many years ago and it was all very new to me. We have two young boys Quincey and Florian and it can be a bit of a juggling act at times so we are lucky the farm life is flexible to some extent.

The farm produces all year round with the most productive season running from March to November as the majority of the proteas flower in Autumn, Winter and Spring and we pick and send Eucalyptus in those months. The busiest time of the year is the lead up to Mother’s Day followed by pruning which starts in October. However, like any farm there are always jobs to fill any gaps like weeding, mowing and maintenance.

The majority of our product is shipped to Sydney Flower Markets and a small portion is delivered to two local florists. I am a fan of zero wastage so I make up bunches with the short and bendy stems and sell them directly to the public via markets or direct orders. This is my favourite part of being a flower farmer as I enjoy seeing the reactions people have to our flowers, it really makes me happy.

I'm so glad Trish and Steve chose to farm flowers many moons ago.
